Matt Kaplan has been our Chief Executive Officer and President since March 2022. Mr. Kaplan has served as a Portfolio Manager for GECM, since October 2020, as well as a Managing Director of ICAM focused on investment opportunities across the capital structure. Mr. Kaplan joined ICAM in 2020 after spending four years at Citadel LLC from 2015 to 2019 investing in special situations and event-driven credit and equities. Previously, Mr. Kaplan served as a Senior Vice President of Imperial Capital UK from 2014 to 2015, advising on special situations and complex transactions, including the liquidation of a failed bank. Prior to Imperial Capital UK, Mr. Kaplan worked in research with Imperial Capital US from 2007 to 2014. Mr. Kaplan earned a B.S. in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.

Keri A. Davis has been our Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer since March 2019. Ms. Davis has over fifteen years of finance and accounting experience in the asset management space. In addition to her role as CFO of GECC, she also serves as Chief Financial Officer of Great Elm Group Inc. (“GEG”). Prior to these positions, Ms. Davis served as SEC Reporting Manager of GEG and GECC. Prior to joining Great Elm, Ms. Davis served as a Senior Manager in the Audit practice of PwC, a multinational professional services firm focusing on audit and assurance, tax, and consulting services. While at PwC, Ms. Davis was part of the Financial Services industry group from 2005 to 2017, focusing primarily on Asset Management clients in the Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco offices. Ms. Davis holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Adam M. Kleinman has been our Chief Compliance Officer and Secretary since September 2017. Mr. Kleinman has served as GEG’s President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer since March 2018, as GEG’s Chief Operating Officer from March 2018 to August 2022, and as GECM’s President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer since November 2016. Mr. Kleinman was a Partner, Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of MAST Capital from March 2009 to September 2017. Prior to joining MAST Capital, Mr. Kleinman was an associate in the Banking and Leverage Finance group at Bingham McCutchen LLP, where he represented financial institutions, hedge funds and corporate borrowers in a broad range of commercial finance transactions. He holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.A. in History from Haverford College.

Jason W. Reese is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Great Elm Group, Inc. since May 5, 2023. Mr. Reese is the Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Imperial Capital Asset Management, LLC (“ICAM”) and the Co-Founder of Imperial Capital, LLC (“Imperial Capital”), both founded in 1997. ICAM is an investment advisor which has managed various hedge funds, investment partnerships, a private REIT and a private equity fund. Imperial Capital is a registered broker-dealer. During his time at Imperial Capital, Mr. Reese formed Monomoy Properties REIT, LLC in 2014, focusing on the Industrial Outdoor Storage sector and continues to serve on the Board of Directors. Mr. Reese is also a founding member of City Ventures, LLC, a California-based private home builder, and has served on the Board of Directors since its inception in 2009. Prior to Imperial Capital, Mr. Reese was a principal with Gordon Investment Corporation, a merchant banking firm in New York and Dallas, where he focused on investing in distressed real estate transactions, high yield securities and leveraged buyouts. Prior to his time with Gordon, Mr. Reese worked in the Corporate Finance Group at PaineWebber in New York. Mr. Reese graduated with honors from Yale University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

Nichole Milz has been GEG’s Chief Operating Officer since September 6, 2022. Prior to joining GEG, Mrs. Milz spent 16 years at Magnetar Capital where she worked in various senior Operations, Finance and Strategy roles. At Magnetar, she served as Deputy Chief Operating Officer and ESG Officer of the Magnetar Energy and Infrastructure Group as well as a member of the Energy & Infrastructure management committee. Mrs. Milz also served as Treasurer of Star Peak Energy Transition Corp and Star Peak Corp II, two alternative energy-focused Special Purpose Acquisition Corporations. Prior to Magnetar, Mrs. Milz spent four years at Citadel as Head of Capital Structure Analysis, a team supporting the Global Credit group in financial modeling and fundamental credit analysis. She began her career in Assurance & Advisory Business Services at Ernst & Young. Mrs. Milz received a Master of Professional Accountancy and Bachelor of Business Administration with honors from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin in 1997.

Dan Cubell has been Head of Research for GECM since March 2021 and on the investment team of GECM since 2017. Prior to joining GECM, Mr. Cubell was a Senior Analyst at Regiment Capital and a Managing Director at Post Advisory Group focused on investment opportunities across the capital structures of distressed and highly levered companies. Mr. Cubell started his career as a leveraged finance investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and later served as a Vice President and Founding Member of Lane, Berry & Co. International, a boutique investment bank. Mr. Cubell graduated with a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
